We’ve been getting a lot of feedback concerning the political persuasion of The American Pulse. Most of those, who have commented, believe this website is targeting Republicans and that we are in favor of Democrats. That certainly is far from the truth.
All of us at The American Pulse are fiscal conservatives and social liberals. We want a realistic budget. Understand what we mean by that. Realistically America cannot have a have an unbalanced budge, nor is it in America’s best interest to have a balanced budget with no room for the unseen, such as natural disasters. We don’t want Congress to have to vote on the allocation monies by cutting funds for some other program before those in need receive financial assistance. We are smarter than that. Nor am I saying we should have a five trillion dollar budget. Cut the waste and pork and stop bleeding the shrinking middle class. We do believe in a smaller more efficient government.
We would support a fiscal conservative if that conservative didn’t have all the baggage the current Conservative Party carries with it. We abhor the Conservative Party’s hypocrisy when it comes to freedom and democracy. Yet, Conservatives lead the charge to take away a woman’s right to choose. I wonder why Conservatives are not at the head of the line, when it came to Tryvon Martin. I thought in America, freedom means being able to walk down a street...without the fear of being followed because of the color of your skin or simply for what you are wearing. The Conservative Party espouses democracy yet they align themselves with those who want to abrogate voting rights to Blacks and minorities under the guise of a voter fraud problem. Conservatives talk about character as being a value vital to the culture of our society yet they want to balance the budget on the backs of the elderly, the poor and those in most need of help. I wonder where the Conservatives’ character and values are in the Ryan Budget. We would support a fiscal conservative, as long as that conservative is not in support of the conservative antiquated and racist baggage.
Today, America has a choice between two parties that are oceans apart. Our goal is to bring to light the differences between the two parties. In doing so, we have to call a spade a spade and make it clear what each party brings to the table. Republicans have been in the forefront because despite American’s cry for help, they have deliberately positioned themselves on the adverse side of America’s basic and crucial issues. Consequently, if one party brings policies to the table that is detrimental to Americans, we will expose it. We just present policies and issues and comment on them as Americans from the middle class.
We at The American Pulse hope in the future a fiscal conservative and a social liberal appears on the political landscape. Until that happens, America is doomed with Republicans, who appear to be for the wealthy and not the middle class and with Democrats, who seem unable to get out of their own way.
I hope the above has explained our political position.

The Debt Ceiling
Our politicians must believe that Americans are stupid. It’s time to raise the debt ceiling and one side is talking about spending cuts. Are they crazy? The debt ceiling concerns money we’ve already spent, not money we are going to spend. Do our politicians believe that Americans don’t know the difference between the two? They must because both sides have already started with the same rhetoric as before.
Yesterday, House Speaker John Boehner, said that when it comes time to vote on a debt-ceiling increase, he'll once again, call for “cuts and reforms” greater than the amount of that increase. “It's the right thing to do. This is the only avenue I see right now to force the elected leadership of this country, to solve our structural fiscal imbalance,” stated John Boehner.
Here’s the kicker, Boehner continued to reject Democrats’ calls for higher taxes on the wealthy ……again. However, if we made every cut in the budget that Republicans want, it still would require that America raise the debt ceiling by $5.2 trillion anyway.
Aside from John Boehner starting this nonsense about not raising the debt ceiling again, I don’t understand those Americans standing with him on the issue of not raising taxes on the wealthy. But that’s for another day.
I just don’t get it. Then again, I don’t understand John Boehner tying the debt ceiling to budget cuts. Hey, John we already spent the money. Now, we need to pay our bills. John, are you suggesting we default, which will affect our credit? Well, the whole word is watching. Don’t make us look bad again.

Mitt and Jobs
Some polls are showing Mitt Romney with a slight lead over President Obama. We are coming out of an economic hole that was the largest since the “Great Depression”. Some Americans believe cutting everything from Medicaid to funding for education will get us out of this hole. I don’t believe cutting will do anything except getting rid of programs Republicans don’t want to fund and give tax cuts for the “job creators”. Moreover, cutting the budget does not create one job.
Mitt Romney says let’s not talk about his bullying in high school and gay rights. Let’s talk about the economy. On the surface, this sounds good but I really don’t give a tinker’s damn about the economy, unless you are going to include jobs in that talk. I care about the jobs for Americans and how do we create those jobs. This is something I haven’t heard from Mitt.
If you go to Mitt Romney's website, mittromney.com, there are numerous categories addressing numerous issues, but I can't find one concering job creation. You can find out that Mitt Romney wants to end organized labor. You will find out Mitt wants to get rid of Medicare and Medicaid and turn healthcare over to the states. However, Mitt fails to provide a solution on how to get Americans back to work.
Where Mitt Romney stands on gay rights is important. If Mitt was a bully in high school then that gives us a little insight into his personality. I have to say one thing about that. Mitt, how could you forget that you held down a kid and cut that kid’s hair for being gay? And I also, grew up in the 1960's and gay may not have been the label but I recall the word fag. Hey Mitt stop lying! Americans are not buying your claim of having amnesia concerning an ugly incident and we aren't accepting your excuse of making a mistake and your 'so let's move on' attitude. Mitt, can you admit it and own it? Well, Americans are making note of your lack of character.
Mitt Romney where is your plan to put Americans back to work? Cutting the budget by using Medicare, Medicaid and programs for the poor and the elderly is not job creation. Anyone who believes cutting programs creates jobs is drinking too much of the Republican Kool-Aid.
